The high light of the festive season in Waterford City, the Waterford Homecrafts Annual Christmas Craft Fair, takes place in Garter Lane Arts Centre from the 29th November to the 22nd December. Celebrating the 30th year, it is one of the longest running annual craft fairs in Waterford City and County.

From humble beginnings, the Waterford Homecrafts Co-op was established in 1984 with the assistance of the Waterford Community Services and a cooperative organiser. Over the last 29 years the co-op has grown from strength to strength and this year the Christmas Craft Fair will feature exclusive hand crafted products from over 40 local artists and crafts people.

Voluntarily run by a core group of local craft people, the co-op members strive to provide an exclusive, quality and professionally run Annual Christmas event, which is the main outlet for all the local craft members.

This year’s craft fair will feature many new local craft people, adding to the already large range of quality products available for sale. Hand blown glass jewellery, herbal skincare products, beautifully glazed ceramics and pottery, stylish leather goods, seasonal flower arrangements, hand decorated glassware, organic woodcrafts, exclusive paintings and hand felted, hand painted and hand knitted fashions; are just some of the exciting products on offer.

The Waterford Homecrafts sadly lost two of the founder members of the co-op this year, Gloria Collins and Mary Larkin. Gloria and Mary were so important to the establishment and growth of the co-op over the years, that we are dedicating the Official Opening of the 30th Christmas Craft Fair in their memory.
