Waterford Homecrafts are delighted to have the opportunity to display some of the members craft products in one of the magnificent windows at the new Waterford City tourist office on the Quay. Not only can we promote the co-op and the furure craft fairs, but it is also a fabulous space to showcase some of the quality Irish hand made crafts that our members create.
The window was first decorated in September. We went for an autumn theme with orange, golds and rust organza on the floor and filled the window with rustic coloured hand painted silk scarves by Mauney Doyle, a beautiful cream hand knitted jumper and handbag by Ita Dalton and two woven wicker baskets by Cathy Hayden.
A tall glass stand displayed beautifully crafted glass jewellery by John Lynagh from Crystal City Creations and beaded necklaces and earrings from Mary Birney. Framed watercolours by Angie Lojewsky, handpainted silk bag and beaded necklaces by Carmel Grant, filled the other glass shelves. The floor of the window display featured a hand quilted tea cosie and cushion by Nuala Doyle and more hand painted silk scarves by Mauney.
Every two weeks the window display is changed and new craft items are added. Some of the new craft products that will be featured this week are woodturing products from Fred O’Mahony and hand painted glass work from Glass Creations.
If you are planning a visit to Waterford and visiting the Viking Triangle, pop by the tourist office on the quay and let us know what you think. Can’t wait to show you what the Christmas window display will look like 😉
