The annual Waterford Homecrafts Christmas Craft Fair will take place in the Garter Lane Arts Centre, O’Connell Street, Waterford City, from November 27th to December 22nd (inclusive). This year there will be even more time to browse and shop at this the most local of local craft events, as the Fair will be open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5:30pm and on Sunday from 12 noon to 5pm.

Celebrating thirty two years of all things associated with local crafts, the 2015 Christmas Craft Fair will be offering everything from paintings to pottery, handmade soaps to silk scarves, handbags to jewellery and woodturning to basket weaving. In fact there is something for everyone this Christmas whether you are looking for a stocking filler or a main Christmas present you will find it all under one roof at this year’s Waterford Homecrafts Christmas Craft Fair.

The Waterford Homecrafts can boast over forty Waterford and south east based craft producers who will be exhibiting at the 2015 Christmas Craft Fair. The Homecrafts co-op are in fact one of the country’s leading craft organisations and as such their annual event, that now compliments the Winterval offering, is one of the busiest winter crafts fairs in the whole of Ireland.

The Garter Lane Arts Centre will host the 32nd Christmas Craft Fair and commenting on this now established annual event was Caroline Senior of Garter Lane, “We are delighted to be welcoming back the Waterford Homecrafts Christmas Craft Fair with their high quality crafts from Waterford and the south east region.”

One of the Waterford Homecrafts longest serving members is ninety four year old Nancy Twomey who will be displaying her very distinctive knitted tea cosies, which she sells to generate donations for local charities. Nancy is once again looking forward to the Christmas Fair in Garter Lane and she will be hoping that the 2015 Waterford Homecrafts Christmas Craft Fair is one of the best to date.

Speaking to a Waterford Homecrafts committee member and organiser, Carmel Grant commented, “Christmas is a very special time for all families and we, Waterford’s local craft producers, look forward to returning to Waterford City every Christmas to meet old and new friends who come annually to the Christmas Craft Fair to buy our one of a kind products. Christmas is without doubt a very special time of the year and we are excited about welcoming everyone who comes to the Garter Lane Arts Centre to visit the Waterford Homecrafts Christmas Craft Fair.”

The 2015 Christmas Fair will be packed with unique and lovingly made traditional Christmas gifts from elegant hand turned wooden bowls, made with locally sourced sustainable wood, to naturally made cosmetics and many more items that quite simply you would not find anywhere else in Ireland.

The Waterford Homecrafts Christmas Craft Fair has something to suit all tastes and budgets and promises the very best of local handmade gift ideas for loved ones this Christmas. Remember that we must all make a conscious effort to buy local and buy handmade this Christmas.
